Assassin’s Creed Shadows Reportedly Coming to Nintendo Switch 2 in December 2025

Ubisoft has yet to officially confirm an Assassin’s Creed Shadows port for the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2, but a new report from the reliable French outlet Dealabs has added weight to the ongoing rumours.

According to the publication, Assassin’s Creed Shadows will launch on Switch 2 on December 5, 2025.

Physical Edition and Pricing Details Leak

The Dealabs report claims that a physical version of Assassin’s Creed Shadows will be available for Nintendo’s next-generation console, complete with a game card rather than a digital-only release.

While pricing has not been confirmed, the report suggests a retail price of around €50 EUR, which would be in line with recent third-party titles on Nintendo platforms.

Retailer Leak Fuels Speculation

Just days before the Dealabs report, a French retailer briefly published a product page for Assassin’s Creed Shadows on the Switch 2, accidentally revealing the cover art and mentioning that the game would be delivered via game key card.

The listing was quickly removed, but screenshots spread online, fuelling speculation that an announcement could be imminent.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows a Major Success on Other Platforms

Originally released earlier this year for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, Assassin’s Creed Shadows received strong reviews from both critics and fans. The game marked a significant return to form for Ubisoft, combining the stealth mechanics of earlier titles with a rich feudal Japan setting.

Following multiple delays during development, the game went on to become a commercial success, providing a much-needed boost for the publisher amid a challenging period.

No Official Word From Ubisoft — Yet

While Ubisoft has not yet addressed the reports, industry insiders believe that the Switch 2 version will be optimized to take advantage of the new console’s improved hardware, offering comparable visual fidelity to the PS5 and Xbox versions.

Given the timing of the leak — and Nintendo’s expected Switch 2 launch window in 2025 — fans are anticipating that an official announcement could come during Ubisoft Forward or a future Nintendo Direct.
