Battlefield 6 Players Get Free Battle Pass and XP Boosters After Rocky Launch

EA is making amends with Battlefield 6 players after a troubled launch in early October 2025 that left many unable to even start the game. To apologize, the publisher is giving out a free Battle Pass and a bundle of XP boosters to affected players.

Battlefield 6 Launch Problems

The launch of Battlefield 6 was far from smooth. Players across platforms faced a wave of technical issues on release day, including:

  • Login outages on the EA App, preventing PC players from accessing the game.
  • “Content not installed” errors despite pre-loads being completed.
  • Steam users receiving a persistent “game not released” error when attempting to update or install.
  • Frequent crashes at startup, locking some players out completely.

The situation quickly drew frustration across the community, especially from those who had pre-ordered or pre-installed the title expecting instant access at launch.

EA’s Apology and Compensation

On October 10, 2025, EA issued a public apology through official Battlefield channels, acknowledging the server and app outages. In the statement, EA said it was committed to improving player experience and offered compensation to those affected.

Players who experienced the launch issues will receive:

  • 12 Hardware 60-Minute XP Boosters
  • 12 Career 60-Minute XP Boosters
  • Full access to the Season 2 Battle Pass

Meanwhile, owners of the Battlefield 6 Phantom Edition will also get the entire Season 2 Battle Pass for free as a gesture of goodwill.

How to Claim Your Free Rewards

Players can claim their free rewards directly from their in-game inbox. Once logged into their EA account, they’ll find the XP boosters and Battle Pass waiting to be redeemed.

The boosters will be automatically added to player accounts after claiming and can be used immediately.

A Step Toward Winning Back Players

Despite the rocky start, EA’s decision to offer free content has been well-received by many players. While it won’t erase the frustrations of launch day, the move shows a renewed effort to restore trust and goodwill within the Battlefield community.

With the issues now resolved and free rewards available, Battlefield 6 players have every reason to jump back in and experience what the game was meant to deliver from day one.
